It is a universal truth that all companies, no matter how or where they operate, have adverse impacts on human (including labour) rights, environment and climate, and anti-corruption principles. According to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, businesses have a responsibility to undertake continuous due diligence to identify, prevent, mitigate and remediate these impacts.

Many of these impacts are already being addressed by companies; think of occupational health and safety, data management and protection of labour rights. However, there are many more rights and principles covered in the International Bill of Human Rights, ILO’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the RIO Declaration on Environment and Development and the UN Convention against Corruption, that are not traditionally addressed in policy commitments and management systems for responsible business conduct.

While the UNGPs and the OECD Guidelines are still voluntary guidelines in most places in the world, we are witnessing a growing worldwide movement to legally require companies to undertake regular due diligence on people, planet and profit. You can now ensure your company will be ahead of the curve and Alexony can help.

From assessing your current status against the UNGPs and OECD Guidelines and helping you identify current blips in your CSR radar all the way to helping you conduct your first comprehensive impact assessment, our company can help place your business’ activity on the global scale.
